This document will explain how to capture both visit and documentation time when completing a late visit from a PointCare device.
Capturing Late Visit Documentation and Visit Times
One option available to capture both visit time and documentation time information when a clinician is documenting a late visit in PointCare is to write a coordination note to account for the documentation time. That coordination note is then reviewed in the back office, and the back office worker manually adds the documentation time to the visit.
However, there is a way to capture both the documentation time and visit time solely from within the late visit...
3. Complete Visit Actions, then select to Complete the visit.
4. Chose to Edit Visit Clock
5. Edit the Begin time to be the actual visit start time
6. Long-tap on Begin and choose "Insert After"
This will open a screen where they should choose an Event Type of Incomplete and set the actual visit end time.
7. Long-tap on "Incomplete" an dset an Insert After option of "Resume" to insert the documentation begin time.
The Complete time should already be the documentation end time.
From there, you can complete the visit and synch back as usual, confident that the appropriate visit and documentation times are recorded.
This method will save time from the back office worker reviewing the coordination note in workflow and inputting the documentation time information in R2. This will also ensure that the PointCare worker’s documentation time is accurately reported for payroll purposes.
